2. Tayma, a junior at Al Mawakeb School Garhoud, has been in Model United Nations long enough that holding a placard feels more natural than raising her hand in class, and she can definitely give a speech faster than she can decide what to eat. She started her journey in Grade 6 at an online conference, somehow winning Best Delegate before she fully understood what being a delegate meant. Since then, she has worked her way up to larger conferences, including university-level ones, where she quickly learned that MUN isn’t always about winning awards… Sometimes, it’s about surviving a 3-hour debate on two hours of sleep, and still sounding confident. Over the years, she has grown in debate, negotiation, and public speaking, while learning that the best committees are the ones where people actually speak up and take risks. She loves encouraging new delegates to raise their placards and trust their voice because, to her, MUN isn’t just about recognition; it’s about confidence, growth, and mastering the art of sounding prepared even when you’re improvising a little.
